New! Attention Alzheimer’s and Dementia Unit Managers
New certification: CDCM Certified Dementia Care Manager

The Dementia Unit manager / supervisor will be provided with NCCDP recommendations for Dementia Unit Policy and Procedures, Best Practices for Dementia Units and NCCDP recommendations for Dementia Unit Manager Job Description. Upon completion of the two day class the professional will be certified as a Certified Dementia Practitioner CDP, Certified Dementia Care Manager CDCM and Certified NCCDP Alzheimer’s and dementia Instructor. The student will also receive Alzheimer’s and dementia curriculum Power Point disk, over head copies, master hand out notebook, text books, DVD and tests.

Qualifications for the course are a 4 year college degree or LPN / RN, Certified or Licensed in a health care profession, 1 year experience as a supervisor / manager of a dementia unit and 1 year experience providing in-services or seminars.  See www.nccdp.org and click on Certified Dementia Care Manager registration form for dates, fees, and information.

Class dates:  2 day class. Must attend both dates
May 31st and June 1st Iowa

NCCDP Train the Trainer Alzheimer’s and dementia Care Course
Become a certified NCCDP Alzheimer’s and dementia instructor

Course Dates:

This seminar is recommended for in-service directors, corporate trainers, dementia unit managers and consultants.  To qualify for this class you must have a 4 year college degree or LPN / RN, Certified or licensed in a health care profession and have experience teaching either seminars or in-services. The student will be provided comprehensive Alzheimer’s and dementia curriculum, power point disk, over head copies, master hand out notebook, text books, DVD and test. Everything you would need to immediately go back and begin providing comprehensive dementia training.  Upon completion of the class the student will be certified as a CDP Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified as an approved NCCDP Alzheimer’s and dementia instructor.  Please see Train the Trainer registration form for details.

1) go to www.nccdp.org/instructor-registration/usercenter.cgi
2) create an account
3) after submission we will verify your status as an NCCDP instructor
4) upon verification you will receive an email with access information
5) you will need to renew access to this section each year  


Instructor Evaluations

NCCDP began sending out evaluations to all applicants.  NCCDP asked many questions on the evaluations to determine the quality of the seminar and materials provided.  If you did not receive an evaluation and would like to tell the NCCDP of your experience, please visit the web site at http://www.nccdp.org/seminarevaluation.htm.  The feed back has been overwhelmingly positive with fantastic scores and excellent comments.  Please see the testimonial page for a sampling of the excellent comments coming in from around the country.
